The Company was founded in 1984 and starts their activity focusing on breeding and taking care of the mussels. It wasn’t until 1990 that it included oysters among its products. In 1995 it started to pack them becoming a worldwide pioneer in this field. Avi Agusti is an entrepeneurial company which offers an ecological, fresh and healthy product to the market and the mediterranean diet.

Agustin Bertomeu’s innovative personality permeates the company culture, being one of the company’s basic pillars.

In 2003 open the gates of “la caseta”, an exclusive space in the middle of the mediterranean sea to enjoy with fresh products into the idyllic place what it’s the Delta del Ebro.

Within 30 years of experiences in this sector the company and “la caseta” of Agustin Bertomeu are now consolidated as an outstanding reference for the gastronomy and the turism.

These efforts were rewarded in 2016, when Agustin got an award for “the best tourist experience in Catalonia”. The jury remarked

about the company Project: “This is a pioneering impulse of the aquaculture tourism of the mussels from the Alfacs Bay, the Delta del Ebro and San Carlos de la Rápita”.

The Project has started in 2005 has promoted and contributed to the tourist dynamism of the area with high quality tastings in situ.
